An interpretation of the evolution of philosophical ideologies of these revolutionaries: Martin Luther King, Malcolm X, Tupac Shakur. The colors reflect the “heat signatures” or intensity of their ideas. MLK believed the social injustices were based on money (green). Malcolm believed it was deeper than that; that power would help defeat these and that the black community needed power to succeed (yellow- envy). The final phase, which Tupac believed was that in order to attain that which you do not have is to take it by force (red). These men all died prematurely as martyrs for what they believed in. While it is questionable whether or not Tupac Shakur belongs with those men is something to be debated. Unbeknown-st to many, he was a strong advocate for the black community yet was killed at the age of 25, never letting his true potential come to maturation.

An experimental work, critical of the United States practices of consumption. Part of a larger body of work, this canvas was the base imagery for a video installation. The US is portrayed as a large menacing entity, ready to consume the tattered, torn and weaker African nations with respect to diamonds, minerals and other great resources (specifically Sierra Leone and the D.R.C).
The video installation included imagery of diamonds and jewels coming from Africa with images of malnourished individuals going to feed fattened Americans who flaunt the wealth obnoxiously. These individuals then sent bullets, ammunition and small coins into the weaker area; taking the wealth and fortunes and returned the means for self destruction.
